Subsea trenching head

Powered by an auxiliary, self-contained power pack, which includes a powered reel for handling the umbilical, our subsea trenching heads are designed for attaching to an excavator arm, either on a pontoon or a swamp-type excavator for intertidal work.

The trench head itself:

• is hydraulically locked into the product installation chute, which is supported by skids running along the sea bed to keep the trenching head at a constant depth
• can be unlocked from the installation chute, removed to the surface for service and maintenance, and then returned to the chute, enabling trencher and product to remain in situ for minimum downtime
